Biography:

I have been a high school and college English teacher, public relations director for Andrews University, and university assessment director at Andrews University.  I am married to Jerome Thayer, and we have two married sons.  My husband sometimes talks me into weeklong bicycle rides in places like Indiana, France, Austria, and the Czech Republic.  We were founding sponsors (with a few others) of Encounter, a ministry by and for young adults in the Andrews University area, and continue to be supportive of the group. 

Current Research or Professional Activities:

My research areas of interest are college impact on student spirituality and assessment of spirituality.  I have written the first draft of a text book on transformational learning and will be rewriting and editing that.  I am deeply interested in discipling--especially the teaching aspects--in the Adventist context and especially among young adults.
