Our Degrees

 

MASTER OF ARTS IN YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY 

The MA in Youth and Young Adult Ministry (MAYYAM) program prepares professionals for jobs such as a youth pastor, dormitory dean, guidance counselor, college or academy chaplain, conference youth director or local church youth leader. You will have the ministry skills to recruit, nurture, and disciple young adults and youth in Christian service and vocation. Take a look at our handbook for more information. 
 
Choose from the following two emphases:
  • Youth & Young Adult Emphasis
  • Campus Chaplaincy Emphasis
The Campus Chaplaincy Emphasis prepares you for chaplaincy on Adventist or non-Adventist institutions of higher education.
 
The program is structured around five basic outcomes or competencies of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry program:
 
  1. Christian Apologist
  2. Pastor-Teacher
  3. Servant Leader
  4. Maturing Christian
  5. Youth and Young Adult Specialist

MASTER OF ARTS (RELIGIOUS EDUCATION)

Upon completion of the MA (Religious Education) program, you will have the pedagogical skills to serve in a specialized area of teaching ministry for either the formal (academic) or non-formal (family, church, and community) settings. Take a look at our handbook for more information.

  • Family Life Emphasis
  • Children Ministries Emphasis
  • Campus Spiritual Leadership Emphasis
  • Customized Emphasis

PhD (RELIGIOUS EDUCATION)

The PhD (Religious Education) program will prepare you to be scholars, teachers, and researchers in specialized teaching and discipling ministries of the home, the church, or Christian colleges and universities.

Choose from the following 3 emphases:

  • Christian Formation and Discipleship Emphasis
  • Theological Curriculum & Instruction Emphasis
  • Customized Emphasis
