2009 AAA Self-Study Report Now Available
The Self-Study for The Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges and Universities (AAA) has been distributed across the campus. Vice presidents, deans, selected directors, members of the AAA Self-Study Committee and members of the Self-Study Steering Committee have all received copies. In addition, two copies are on reserve in the James White Library. It is also available online (see link above) and on the D2L site for the 2009 AU Self-Study. We encourage you to review the document in preparation for the site visit. The AAA site visit to Andrews University will take place October 18-22, 2009. The team will meet together on Sunday evening, October 18, 2009 at their hotel to get acquainted and finish planning the visit. The on-campus portion of the visit will begin Monday morning, October 19, with a meeting with the top University administrators and orientation to the Resource Room. The Resource Room (AD 306) will have all the documents referred to in the self-study and additional information that might be needed.
Other aspects of the schedule are still being discussed, but will include a variety of meetings as requested by the team. For some meetings, the entire team of eight members will be present; for other meetings, one or two members of the team will interview campus personnel. As the schedule is developed further, the Office of Accreditation will inform the various groups and individuals. Two of the site visitors are here in an observer role, seeking information to help them build programs for their institution or for the worldwide Church.
Members of the team may also visit classes, stop by offices and find other ways to meet informally with students, faculty and staff. Alice Williams, Linda Closser, Barb Friesen and others will be available to the team to help schedule meetings and locate any additional materials the team requests.
