What is the Senior Exit Test?

The Senior Exit Test is a tool to help Andrews University determine its success at providing the general education part of the curriculum. Our results are compared with those of other institutions to help verify that our graduates are competent. The Senior Exit Test is taken during the senior year, and is administered on-line in small groups.

Andrews University uses the ETS Proficiency Profile, formerly known as the Measure of Academic Proficiency and Progress, to measure General Education outcomes. This test measures students’ abilities in Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Critical Thinking, Humanities, Social Sciences and Natural Sciences. You will obtain your scores when you complete the test.  To compare your scores with those of students from other institutions go to ETS.

All individual information is confidential.  The Office of Institutional Assessment releases information on the performance of all graduates in a department or program only if there are more than 4 respondents.  Thus, departments cannot identify individual students.   Departments may go to ETS to compare the performance of their students with students at other institutions; information is not available for specific disciplines.
