Tim was born and raised in Michigan. His parents met at Andrews University (when it was still EMC) and Tim and his three siblings all graduated from Andrews. Tim has worked as a Child Abuse Investigator, therapist, and Minister of Marriage and Family. In 1986, he turned his favorite hobby of water skiing and boating into a business when he founded California Correct Craft, which grew to be the largest Ski/Air Nautique dealership in the world for 13 straight years. After 23 years, Tim sold his company in favor of returning to his native Michigan in 2009.
He now lives in Berrien Springs and works as a Senior Development Officer for Andrews, and travels back to the West Coast about once a month to visit with alumni in that area. Tim is married to fellow AU graduate and Registered Dietician, Birgit Sherwin, and they have four adult children between them: Jason is a web designer in California, Jeremy is an Emergency Room RN in Loma Linda, Jessica is finishing her Pre-Vet degree at Andrews, while Tom is the Tampa, Florida territory manager for Joston’s Yearbook Company. Tim and Birgit make it a priority to spend as much time with their kids as possible and that keeps them busy!
Tim’s favorite pastime now is riding motorcycles. He enjoys off-roading in the woods and swamps of Michigan, but most enjoys riding with his sons in the deserts and mountains of Baja, Mexico and Southern California. You’ll also still find him “in and behind” his Nautique boat on the waters of Lake Chapin and Lake Michigan!
