Why work for Dining Services?

Andrews University Dining Services has a variety of employment opportunities for full-time, part time staff along with full-time Andrews University students. The Dining Services Department is one of the largest student employers on the campus. Academics come first to all our student workers, and with the variety of job offerings and wide range of hours for different positions we can easily provide flexible work hours to choose from. Most students find that 12 to 15 hours of work per week is about the maximum amount they can handle while carrying a full class load. However, a student may work up to 20 hours per week.

Gain experience for future career advancement through leadership, teamwork, professionalism and customer service. You also get discounts on meals once you have worked a shift. After each shift worked at Dining Services students must fill in a 40% off discount card. Once students have worked and logged 12 hours on the discount card they may use it to purchase one meal in the Terrace Cafe or Gazebo for 40% off.

What kind of jobs are available to students?

Jobs available for students include serving, assisting in the various aspects of food preparation (salads, cook's assistant, ingredient preparation), cashiering, sanitation, assisting in banquets and other special events, and working in the Gazebo, the university made-to-order grill and campus grocer.

How do I apply?

We no longer accept paper applications. To apply for a job at Dining Services we would greatly appreciate if you would visit the Human Resources website for the current positions we have available. If there are no positions available at this time, please check back frequently, as various positions need to be filled throughout the year with students coming and going. The best times of year to check and apply for jobs are at the beginning of each semester when there are a greater quantity of positions to be filled. Generally, we do not hire new student workers for the summer months.
