We strongly believe in supporing the local farmers and growers in the Southwest Michigan area. We try to buy our fresh produce and ingredients from farms in a 150 mile radius from campus. Throughout the year, but especially in the summertime when produce is most readily available in this area, we have "local" challenges to include a certain percentage more of local produce than we do on a normal day.
All our recipes made in the Terrace Cafe and other areas in Dining Services are made entirely from scratch. From the main entrees to the desserts, everything we present to our customers is made fresh, and from scratch.
We love the fact that we only serve vegan and vegetarian food at Dining Services. Not only is all of our food healthy and wholesome, it's absolutely delicious. We pride ourselves on being able to create healthy and delicious vegan and vegetarian meals; it's not as common an ability as you might think.
A sustainable future for food service means flavorful food that's healthy and economically viable for all, produced through practices that respect farmers, workers, and animals; nourish the community; and replenish our shared natural resources for future generations.
