Summit on Social Consciousness
The first Summit on Social Consciousness was held at Andrews University in 2012 on the theme "Lessons from Rwanda." The Summit featured Carl Wilkens, former ADRA director in Rwanda, as the keynote speaker.
The second Summit held in 2013 focused on the theme of "Human Sex Trafficking: The Sale of Innocence." Featured speakers included Abigail Kuzma, deputy attorney general for the state of Indiana, and Annie Lobert, founder of Hookers for Jesus.
The 2014 Summit was titled "The Poor Next Door: Poverty in America." Rachel Wade, Bonnie Bazata, and Taurus Montgomery were among the featured speakers. Breakout session presenters included Lucy Randall and Andrews University faculty Joel Raveloharimisy, Twyla Smith, Nicholas Miller, and Sarah Kimakwa.
