Program Accreditation
The Andrews University Nursing program is approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing and holds accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission* (NLNAC).

Bachelor of Science: Nursing
The Andrews University Department of Nursing offers two undergraduate programs, which are listed below. Students just beginning their college education will enroll in the NCLEX preparatory program. Students already holding an Associate's degree and/or are already an R.N. will enroll in the B.S. completion program for R.N.'s. Both prepare students for a career in professional nursing, are approved by the Michigan Board of Nursing and have full accreditation from the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC). The programs focus on the provision of care and the promotion of health for individuals and families through classroom and laboratory experiences in a variety of settings. Strong and varied clinical experience is gained through hospital and community agencies and work with clients of diverse cultural and socioeconomic groups. Certain G.P.A. requirements, training, and medical requirements must be met for progression in both programs.

Baccalaureate Program
The baccalaureate  program provides a complete spectrum of professional study, as well as a general education in the arts, humanities, and sciences. The program can be completed in 8 semesters of full-time study, with 59 nursing credits needed for completion. Through course work and hands-on experience students are given the background needed to pass the NCLEX licensure examination. Graduates of the program are prepared to pursue graduate studies.

Baccalaureate Completion Program for Registered Nurses
The baccalaureate  completion program is for R.N.'s already holding an Associate's degree. It takes two years of full-time study to be awarded the B.S. in Nursing. The program consists of 32 credits of upper division nursing. The B.S. completion student is expected to identify health needs, assess health status, plan and implement suitable nursing interventions, utilize previously mastered concepts and skills to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and readjust plans as needed. Having established career goals and having refined their clinical competency, R.N.'s can seek further education, which will strengthen their professional image, challenge their scholastic abilities, and prepare them for graduate school, if desired.

1. RN license in the United States (No exceptions are granted to this policy).
2. Minimum GPA of 2.75.
