All Andrews University Dietetic Interns must register in both the Fall and Spring semesters
(Fall Registration is to be completed by August 8th. Spring registration is to be completed by December 5th).
Graduate Certificate in Nutrition & Dietetics- 12 credits (Eligible for Loans)
The certificate will provide a total of 12 credits. Fall Semester: 6 credits; Spring Semester: 6 credits
The certificate will facilitate the applicant’s eligibility for student loans.
When applicable, the applicant can petition to transfer up to 6 credits to the AU on-line MPH program.

- Description of the Internship program of Nutrition and Dietetics
FDNT 595- Graduate Certificate Fall Semester: 6 units
The Internship Program, during the fall semester, will cover the community and food service rotations. The community rotations will take place in WIC clinics, wellness programs and school lunch programs. Interns will be teaching nutrition classes to members of the community and will learn how to develop wellness activities. During the food service rotations the interns will learn a variety of food service management skills; this rotation will occur in a hospital or university setting. Interns are required to pass 2 online tests in community and food service areas for the completion of the fall semester.
FDNT 596 Graduate Certificate Spring Semester: 6 units
The Internship Program, during the spring semester, will be completely dedicated to the Medical Nutrition Therapy rotations. Interns will learn how to assess and counsel patients with a variety of health conditions. Interns are required to pass a clinical online test and a comprehensive test that will cover the 3 major areas: food service, community and MNT for the completion of the spring semester.

*A professional educaiton fee of $365 and a General Fee of $117 are charged for each semester a student is registered for either program option.
Graduate Certificate in Nutrition & Wellness
(Eligible to apply for student loans)
Once the applicants have been accepted into the Graduate Certificate in Nutrition and Wellness They will be eligible to apply for a student loan by contacting the person in charge of student’s loan. Vicki Thompson is the person in charge of student loans and she is located in the Student Financial Services Office. If you want to pay with other funds you may send a check or money order payable to Andrews University.
Please note that interns who are not registered and/or have not sent the payment will not be able to start the Internship Program.
