The decision to attend college may be one of the most important ones you'll ever make. Don't worry—we're here to make it easy.

Freshman Admission Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent (with less than 25 credits of college level coursework after high school graduation).
  • A minimum high school GPA of 2.50 or an overall GED score of at the 50th percentile or higher.
  • ACT/SAT test composite and individual scores higher than a 20 ACT (50th percentile) or SAT of 450 individual or 970 composite (math and Critical Reading) for good and regular admission. Tests must be taken by July 15.
  • Two recommendations from non-relatives, with contact information (part of the application).
  • Submit your official high school transcript
    • Students who had dual enrollment with a college during high school must submit official transcripts from any and all colleges that were attended.
    • If you have not yet finished high school or secondary school, you may send a partial transcript for an early decision, pending the official final high school transcript or exams after graduation. All undergraduate applicants must submit a final/official secondary school transcript as required by Michigan State Law.
  • English Proficiency: If English is not your first language, a TOEFL of 80 or higher (Internet-based) or MELAB test must be submitted. If you do not meet the requirements, then English Intensive Courses will be required before enrolling full-time in regular courses. Such courses are offered at Andrews University.

Application Deadlines

Fall Semester: July 15
Spring Semester: November 15
Summer Session 1 (May 13 - June 7): March 15
Summer Session 2 (June 10 - July 5): April 15
Summer Session 3 (July 8 - August 2): May 15

NOTE: late application fee of $50, if submitted after application deadline

 

Freshman students are encouraged to apply before their final secondary-school transcript is available. A preliminary transcript with a cumulative GPA (through the 11th grade) and ACT or SAT test scores will be reviewed by the Undergraduate Admissions Committee for a decision. All students must submit a final secondary-school transcript and ACT or SAT scores before they can attend classes.

Your application, academic records and test scores will be reviewed by the Undergraduate Admissions Committee. Upon admission, we’ll share with you the steps you’ll need to take to enroll in classes as a student at Andrews University.  A freshman student who does not meet admission standards may apply. The student’s application materials will be reviewed by the Undergraduate Admissions Committee may still apply before July 15 (for fall semester) and by November 15 (for spring semester). After the review, the student will receive a letter outlining the conditions for admission or indicating that admission has been denied and the alternatives open to the student for reapplication in the future (including improved test scores or successfully completed college level coursework).
