Connecting to a WirelessZone is easy. Follow these 3 simple steps and you'll be computing without wires in no time!

The first thing you need is a wireless networking card that is compliant with the 802.11b DSSS wireless specification. The ITS computer store sells wireless cards that are compliant. Follow the manufacturers instructions for installing and configuring the card. |

When configuring your card in step one, you will be asked for an SSID code. The SSID for wireless computing at Andrews University is: wirelesszone |

If your computer has a web browser installed follow the manufacturers instructions for setting its automatic proxy configuration to: http://www.andrews.edu/proxy.pac
Note: This step is REQUIRED if you plan on browsing web sites outside the andrews.edu domain.

That's all there is to it! Remember, wherever you see the green WirelessZone diamonds, your computer can be connected to the Andrews University network. |
