History

So... what does a bored teenager with too much time and money on his hands do? Well, I had always wanted a pinball machine and when I found out from my dad that one of his coworkers was a collector... well.. things just fell into place.

Since I wanted to build one (a daunting task but... I still to this day want to) my dad tried to point me to getting one in at least operable condition and when we went down to Keith's (dad's coworker) house and saw his collection I was hooked.

So for a VERY reasonable sum of money I had myself my first pin. We loaded it into the truck and drove it up to my parents house (where I lived at the time). It sat there being played and slightly tinkered with for about 5 years or so... even after I had gotten married and moved out. After 2 years of living in an apartment my wife and I built a house and moved in to it in August of 2002. Got the place all in order and Summer of 2003 moved the machine to our house.

This is the place in the story that some stuff went somewhat horribly wrong. My brother in law was going to come over and help us unload the machine from the truck and get it into the basement. Well.. that was for an hour after we got home. No one thought about it... we should have but... The machine sitting in the back of the truck for that hour managed to play solar oven and it got hot enough inside that all of the ramps got a little soft and were deformed to varying degrees. The right ramp was the worst off because they had a deflection plate to protect it that was sprung against the plastic. Well needless to say when the plastic got soft that spring pushed the plastic out and opened a crack in the ramp.

So now we come to current time when we have played it a bit in the new house and I have now decided to restore it. Keep watching the other pages and we will see if we can't write a better outcome to the story than the start :P
