Braised Chicken with Mushrooms


Ingredients

1 lb boneless chicken - cut into bite size
10 black mushrooms - soaked
1 star anise
3 cloves garlic- shredded
1 inch ginger root - shredded
2 tbs. soy sauce
1 tbs sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbs oil
1 tsp sesame oil
1 cup water
1/2 tsp cornflour

Directions

Marinate chicken in salt, sugar, soy sauce and sesame oil.
Heat oil in wok, add star anise, ginger and garlic.
Fry till light brown.
Add chicken and fry till brown.
Add the rest of the ingredients.
Simmer till chicken is cooked and mushroom is soft.
You may need to add a little more water if the gravy is too dry.
