Hello, I'm Dave Albrecht (dalbrec@cba.bgsu.edu), an accounting professor. I taught at AU from 1980-1985, pursued a Ph.D. at Virginia Tech from 1985-1991, taught at UNC (1989-1990), and taught at Bowling Green State University from 1990-present. I am an adventist, I use computers intensively in classes, and I'm an educator. However, I'm not in CS. I do belong to a joint accounting & MIS department, so I'm at least related. I am fortunate to teach my class in a high-tech classroom. I control lighting from up front, the permanently fixed projection equipment sends any output onto a nice hard screen. The PC in the class permits me to use spreadsheets, presentation software, and the Internet. All three are utilized in a typical class session. Important points are presented to students via PowerPoint. Examples of financial statement disclosures are shown from WWW sites. I show how spreadsheets are an integral part of an accountant's tool kit. I have authored series of spreadsheet and Internet assignments for financial accounting. Dave Albrecht (dalbrec@cba.bgsu.edu)
