Difficulties/Problems/Solutions

  1. Being scooped.
    Not so bad since gives independent comparison.

  2. Blown laser diode.
    Control static discharge, turn off/ground diode when not in use, use a UPS, replace (find/$$$/delay), we have only a few spares.

  3. Laser diode mode hops 78GHz in sweep.
    Find current/temp region it doesn't.

  4. Laser diode won't lase at 335.116 048 807 (41) THz ± 1.167 688 (81) GHz (894.592 959 86(11) nm ± 0.001 558 57 nm in vacuo) Adjust current/temp until it does/use other diode.

  5. Scheduling conflicts at NIST.

  6. Power output too low. (Looked great!)

  7. Drs. Gerginov & Tanner say it is going to work!
