After flying from Cairo to Luxor, the Pauliens and the Zarka's moved into staterooms on a Nile cruise boat in Luxor.  After a couple of days docked in Luxor, the ship cruised up the Nile (south) for two days to Aswan.  After exiting the boat, we transferred above the Aswan High Dam to a hydrofoil that sped us a couple hundred miles to the Temple of Abu Simbel.
After viewing the Temple, we hydrofoiled back to Aswan, viewed the city and then flew back to Cairo.  Kim and dad then traveled alone to Mount Sinai, as the Zarkas had to travel on to Europe for their furlough.
