Currently I am the Associate Information Officer for Andrews University and Assistant Director for Instructional Technology in the Information Technology Services Department.  The Instructional Technology portion of this position began on July 1, 1998 and I am in the process of learning as much as possible about faculty use of technology, multimedia tools and distance education alternatives.  The position will be better defined as time passes.  I expect to spend time understanding what the campus needs are so that I can facilitate the development of goals, strategies and plans for the campus use of computers for instructional purposes.  

  

July 1, 1997 to June 30, 1998 I was the Assistant Director for Client Services supervising the Nethery and Bell Microlabs, the Computer Store and PC Support areas. 

  

August 1996 to June 30, 1998 I was the Assistant Director for Academic Computing supervising the areas of Campus Network, Academic Unix Systems, Novell Systems, Nethery and Bell Microlabs, the Computer Store and PC Support. 

  

August 1995 to July 1996, I was the Acting Director of the Computing Center with oversight responsibilites for the entire department. 

  

February 1992 to July 1995, I was the Assistant Director for Academic Computing with responsibilities for the Campus Network, Academic Unix Systems, and the Nethery and Bell Microlabs.  During this time, a campus network was developed linking all major buildings on campus and the James White Library was converted to an online catalog. 

  

October 1991 to March 1992 I was a contract teacher for the Computer Science and Information Systems department at Andrews University teaching Systems Analysis and Design. 

  

June 1988 to October 1991 I was employed by Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana as a Systems Analyst. 

  

July 1985 to June 1988 I was a faculty member in the Computer Science and Information Systems department at Andrews Univeristy teaching courses including Systems Analysis and Design, Database Systems, Management Information Systems, Microcomputer Applications, Introduction to Computers for General Education requirements and Computing Center Management. 

  

March 1981 to June 1985 I was the Supervisor of Academic Computing Services for the Computing Center at Andrews University.  I supervised a mainframe terminal lab, provided a service to run statistical programs for faculty and students, set up user accounts and helped faculty and students as needed. 

  

My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems in 1985 and a Masters of Business Administration in 1986 both from Andrews University.
