There is not really much to say about keyboards other then the fact that they are for typing, and that they can be either wired or wireless (wireless is becoming quite popular). I mean seriously what else is there to say? Ok lots, but not yet.
A mouse is quite simply a pointing device. The mouse controls what is called a curser on the screen. The user moves the mouse to locations that he wants the computer to pay attention to. The buttons on the mouse are used to select, drag, drop, and/or open items. There are usually 3 buttons on a mouse known as: left click, right click, and scroll click (or middle click if there is no scroll wheel). The scroll button is under the scroll wheel. The left button is usually set up for single clicking and the right button is for bringing up a menu of options for the selected item. The middle button is optional and is generally user assigned.
Mice come in all kinds of shapes which are meant to be erganomic. They can be wired or wireless just like keyboards and there are several different types of mice: ball, optical, laser, and track ball.
Ball mice require frequent cleaning of the ball compartment for optimal use. Optical mice require almost no cleaning of the optical lens. Laser Mice are basically the same are optical except they use a laser for sensing movement. Track ball mice are almost like up-side-down ball mice. The ball on the top is rotated by the fingers to position the curser, instead of moving the mouse to position the curser.
