Captain Dickinson

Captain Almeron Dickinson, originally a blacksmith from Tennessee, was married to Susanna. They had a 15-month daughter, Angelina. Susanna and Angelina were among the fourteen survivors (Wood). While the work of fortifying the Alamo was going on, Almeron found that he worked well with the artillery, so he was put in charge of the cannons (Lord 77). During the siege his men shot Santa Anna's headquarters (Lord 129). Captain Dickinson was one of the last to die (Lord 166).
