First Base: Ashley Wegner and Jessica McHenry Second Base: Holly Billings and Ashley Wegner Short Stop: Amelia Breslin Third Base: Victoria Hurst Pitcher: Jessica McHenry and Jill Blough Catcher: Taylor McGrath
What can I say about our infield? Like a rock, our in field made a total of six errors in ten
all-star games. That's know major league average, but for a u16 team we certainly made an impression.
Despite injury, Ashley Wegner played an outstanding first base, making many crucial catches during games.
Jessica McHenry, who played first whil not pitching, gave first base some height and a wide range.
Holly Billings was the main second baseman. With a massive range and solid throwing consistancy, you
can always count on Holly to make the play. Amelia Breslin had the reflexes of a puma at short stop, and
made many pop-out catches. With a cannon arm, Amelia was definatley crucial to the team's success.
Victoria Hurst vastly improved as the tournament went on and is continuing to improve her throwing accuracy.
Our two pitchers were not only consistent but extremely fast. Both pitchers averaged nine strike outs every
game. Hats off to our outstanding pitchers. Last but most definately not least, our all-star MVP, Taylor
McGrath. Past balls were almost non existent while Taylor was behind the plate. With a rocket shot to
second base, Taylor caught eleven girls attempting to steal second base. These girls made an outstanding
effort the entire 2007 season and we are all so greatful for that.
