Fifteen of my 16 great-great grandparents are buried in Michigan. The 16th, John Blackmer, died in Dakota Territory within a year of moving there after spending 20 years in Michigan. Seven of my great-great-great-grandparents: Alfred Thompson (1786-1872), Neziah Fox (1785-1847?), Joseph Bullen (1795-1874) and his wife Mary (Warner) (1791-1857), William Mapes (1813-1876), his mother Rebecca (Millen) and wife Sarah (Nealy) (1816-1889), and Sarah Latham's mother Sarah Youngs; as well as my mother-in-law's great-grandparents, died and are buried in Michigan as well. Thus, Michigan history is important to me and my research.

I am located about 2 hours from three important libaries: Michigan State Library (This is MLINK), 1870 Michigan Census, Allen County Library's Historical Genealogy Department, and the Newberry Library.
