Position summary
The Department of Agriculture and Student Gardens is looking for a Mobile Market Manager. We are looking for a business minded individual to run the market. During the early season they would contribute to the business models, meet with farmers and supply chain opportunities, form agreements, confirm truck licensing or permits, help with stop locations and times, reach out to partners at stops. During the summer season this role would be in charge of all finances, sales, all operational components of the market, while being the driver and operator of the truck.
The current market expectation is in research, building sustainable business models in healthy local food delivery mechanisms. This position is full time from Mid-May through the end of the summer with two weeks off in early June.
Qualifications summary
- Must be a college senior or grad student
- Must have some business experience, ideally enrolled in or just finished one of our business programs
- Must be able to drive a small delivery truck or be trained to drive one, upon hire.
- Available to work full- time (40-50 hours a week) from May through the last Friday of the summer
- Must have good people and financial skills
- Be able to lift at least 30 lb.
- Computer fluency in basic Office Applications
- Self-starter, motivated and creative
