ACADEMY GENERAL - Student Accounts Mgr

Position summary

The position will manage account receivables, communicate policies and procedures to students, parents, and Academy board and is responsible for monitoring accounts daily.  Works with PMC on scholarships for Academy Students and is responsible to collect the information for presentation to the committee.  Participates in registration for both semesters.   

Qualifications summary

Must have completed a minimum of two years of college with accounting/bookkeeping skills and experience and ability to provide counsel and guidance for families requesting finanancial assistance.  The ability to be discreet and professional in handling personal/family financial information.


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

Manage application forms for student assistance

Communicate with families seeking financial assistance on a timely and regular basis.  Also communicate with school administrators, financial board, etc. 

Policies and procedures: assist PMC financial committee with Andrews Academy applicants, recommend policies and procedures to board and administrators.

Manage Student Accounts: reconcile accounts, monitor payments and account receives, prepare and maintain corresponence of financial arrangements.

Interview Process: interview and schedule appointments with families in a timely manner, gather all essential materials necessary to take to committee on the parents behalf, articulate clearly and in a professional manner.

Must be able to meet deadlines.

Supervisory responsibilities

Meet with board on a monthly basis regarding the accounts receivables and take to the board any exceptions to policy.

Meet regularly with principal and business manager about concerns and problems with parents/students.

Have flexible hours, especially during registration, etc/

 

Qualifications

Computer knowledge (banner preferred), excel, microsoft windows, calculators (adding machines), other office equipment.


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Interpersonal interactions

Must be able to communicate well on paper and in person with families.  Must demonstrate a caring attitude and have flexibility in times to meet with parents. Complete tasks in a professional and timely manner with a minimum amount of supervision.

Physical demands

Much time sitting, using the computer and some standing for several hours. 

Work environment

Separate office area in the school library.
