NURSING - Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing

Position summary
Responsible for teaching didactic and clinical nursing, skills lab and simmulation along with other applicable assignments to make a full-time position.
Qualifications summary
- Doctorate or Masters in Nursing
- At least 2 years current work Experience in nursing education, skills lab and/or simulation
- Previous teaching experience in Maternal and child health preferable
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach Didactic and Clinical Nursing Courses
- Teach/supervise skills and simulation labs
- Attend all departmental meetings
- Advise students
- Attend Pinnings, Dedications, and Graduations
- Participate in writing program self-study and preparation for accreditation visits
- Other duties assigned by the department chair
Supervisory responsibilities
Supervise skills and simulation laboratory staff.

- Dynamic presenter/speaker
- Ability to form good student and peer relationships
- Ability to establish relationships with clinical sites in various communities
- Excellent knowledge of nursing clinical skills
- Ability to work with simulation equipment and manikins prefered.

Technical competencies
- Ability to use course management systems like Moodle is preferred but training will be given.
- Comfortable with classroom presentation technology like PowerPoint etc.
- Ability to work with simulation equipment and manikins prefered.
Interpersonal interactions
- Must be comfortable interacting with students in an advisory role
- Must be comfortable interacting with multi-ethnic and multi-national faculty and student population.
Physical demands
- Must be able to keep up with the physical demand required for students’ clinical rotation within the healthcare settings.
Work environment
- Classes will be taught mostly in Marsh Hall, Andrews University
- Clinical at hospitals and clinics in the community.
