Position summary
Clinical faculty teaching nursing skills, simulation lab and other assigned courses.
Qualifications summary
- Masters or doctorate degree in Nursing.
- At least two years recent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Formal teaching experience and/or skills/simulation lab experience is preferred.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach and supervise skills/simulation lab for all student levels.
- Participate in skills and simulation lab for clinical groups with assistance from course instructors.
- Review clinical and didactic course syllabi for simulation and skills
- Complete students' lab evaluation, grade skills, care plans and concept maps where applicable.
- Review skills/simulation lab evaluation with departmental chair and department assessment committee
- Participate in accreditation preparation and visit when required.
- Keep hard copy and electronic record of students' skills.
- Manage skills and simulation labs.
- Maintain lab equipment, supplies and manikins.
- Collaborate with department chair for lab budget and acquisition of lab supplies for students' use.
- Maintain active inventory of equipment and supplies in skills and simulation labs.
- Evaluate lab use for continuous improvement.
- Available to students for skills practice and tests.
- Teach assigned courses and/or clinical to make up for full-time position.

Qualifications
- Masters or doctorate degree in Nursing.
- At least one year recent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing.

Technical competencies
- Ability to work with Moodle or other course management system
- Has taken some online courses and understand how it works
- Familiarity with microsoft and other educational software programs

Physical demands
- Physical demands of this job are in keeping with faculty position in any educational institution.
- Ability to practice in clinical setting teaching students' practicum.
