Position summary
This position provides academic advising and administrative assistant in the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary's InMinistry Center facilitating the English track Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry (MAPM) program for the North American Division (NAD).

Duties and responsibilities
- Function as student advisor (60% of time) and office manager (40% of time)
- Office manager for InMinistry Center
- Communicates program delivery needs to NAD leadership and administrators
- Front-line phone receptionist regarding program details
- Custodian of program documents and records
- Responsible for academic record keeping for all students
- Respond to and advise students toward academic completion and graduation
- Researches and publishes annual academic check-sheets for all students
- Guide students through the registration process using appropriate university resources, as well as recommending necessary changes.
- Coordinate NAD extension intensives and on-campus intensives.
- Backup to the Director in her absence by facilitating all activities and information regarding the InMinistry Center programs
- Interface with SDATS and Andrews University staff regarding InMinistry Center needs
- Monitor InMinistry Center mission contribution to that of SDATS, Andrews University, and NAD Ministerial
- Maintain the InMinistry Center website
- Interviewing, recommending and supervising Graduate Assistant
Supervisory responsibilities
Directly supervise a grad assistant including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; and evaluating performance.
Qualifications
Competencies:
- Highly professional person in interactions with North American Division , Union and local Conference leadership and with pastors.
- Exhibit superior verbal and writing skills.
- Capable in computer use across multiple PC applications.
- High organizational ability and relational interaction.
- Comfortable in academia and with student advising.
- Experience in web use/management.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors’ degree preferred; two to four years work related experience and/or training.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general academic information.
- Writing ability for reports and business correspondence, provide class sequence recommendations.
- Able to effectively present accurate program information, as well as professionally respond to administrators, students, and potential students.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Technical competencies
Expertise in Microsoft Office applications; capable of learning University academic record keeping programs as well as web use and management.
Interpersonal interactions
Interpersonal Skills and Abilities:
- Must feel and act comfortably with all who interact with this office: students, faculty, staff, church leaders and pastors.
- Must have a warm and friendly personality.
- Must be willing to help "clients" according to their needs.
