Position summary
Clinical adjunct faculty teaching medical surgical nursing clinical.
Qualifications summary
- Masters in Nursing or candidate working on MS Nursing degree preferred. Will accept BS Nursing.
- At least one year recent clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Formal clinical teaching experience is preferred.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach and supervise medical-surgical nursing clinical for junior student at an assigned clinical site.
- Participate in skills and simulation lab for assigned clinical group.
- Review clinical and didactic course syllabi for needed skills and learning objectives.
- Complete students' lab evaluation, grade skills, care plans and concept maps where applicable.
- Complete students' midterm and end of semester clinical evaluation.
- Remediate skills with students needing help with clinical performance.
- Review skills/simulation lab evaluation for course improvement
- Participate in accreditation visit when required.
- Available to students for skills practice and tests.

Qualifications
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to form good student and peer relationships
- Possess RN License in Michigan State
- Ability to collaborate effectively with assigned clinical site for optimal achievement of student learning objectives.

Technical competencies
- Ability to use course management systems like Moodle is preferred but training will be given.
- Ability to adequately use microsoft office software like excel and word
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to the computer software utilized by clinical site for documentation, orders and medication administration.
Interpersonal interactions
- Must be comfortable interacting with students/staff in a clinical setting.
- Must be comfortable interacting with multi-ethnic and multi-national faculty and student population.
Physical demands
Must be able to keep up with the physical demand required for students’ clinical rotations.
Work environment
Skills and simulation labs are at Marsh Hall, Andrews University.
Clinical site will be one of the healthcare institutions close to Berrien Springs, MI.
