Position summary

Student must have prior experience or knowledge of Photo Shop and scanning paper and/or audio-visuals materials.

Student must take the Office Proficiency Skills test at HR and bring results to Office Manager in the Dean's office of James White Library along with a copy of their resume.  Student must fill out an onsite application.

Must be detail orientated and 2 - 4 hours blocks of time available.

Duties and responsibilities

Prepare material for digitization folllowing stated procedures.

Operate digitization equipment.

Perform various digitiaztion tasks for paper-based and audio-visual materials.

Cooperate in the creation and/or modification of metadata for resoures being scanned.

Data entry.

Perform post-scanning activities according to estabished procedures.

Assist with other tasks as needed within the Center.

Student must take the Office Proficiency Skills test at HR and bring results to Office Manager in the Dean's office of James White Library along with a copy of their resume.

Qualifications

Considerable experience with scanning paper and/or audio-visuals materials.

Eperience in the manipukation of data files.

High level attention to detail and quality of work.

Organized and orderly.

Possession of a strong work ethic.

Ability to understand instructions and training in English and follow through on intructions without constant supervision.

Andrews University student with full-time status.

if international, you must have the necessary visa allowing you to work in the United States.

Ability to faithfully and consistently work at leat 10 hours or more a week on an agreed to schedule.

Openings in your class and other activities schedule to allow working two to four-hour time blocks.

Prefer 2 or more years remaining at Andrews University.

A Seventh-day Adventist background is very helpful.

Technical competencies

Experience with various Adobe products, such as Photoshop, helpful.

Experience with rotary, flatbed, and/or overheard scanners.

Experience with audio and video file formats.

Will interact with students, faculty, staff, and possibly community.

Nothing unusual.

Temperature variations.
