Position summary
Responsible for working with the departmental chairperson and faculty on specific projects as well as general secretarial duties for both the undergraduate and the graduate programs.
Qualifications summary
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- At least one year office experience is required
- Experience with recruitment or marketing prefered.
- Strong computer skills like Microsoft Word, Excel, Power-point, Moodle to name a few is required.
- Good social skills required - will be working with students from various cultures.
- Knowledge of online educational environment preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, report and interpret data is required.
- Ability to write reports, engage in business correspondence, etc. is required.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts - balance finacial books
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

- Budgetary Duties
- Special Projects - including assistance with accreditation needs, social occassions, departmental assemblies, webpage maintainance, cleaniness and aesthetics of department and
- Other duties assigned by the department chair.

Technical competencies
- Computer savvy with microsoft office products
- Able to create and maintain multi-sheet spreadsheets
- Able to navigate the online environment and help trouble shoot for online students if needed.
- Able to create and maintain electronic files for students and faculty
- Working knowledge of the Learning Mnagement System (Moodle).
Interpersonal interactions
- Must be comfortable interacting with students from various cultures
- Must be comfortable ineracting with students, parents and family in the advisory role
- Good telephone etiquette
Physical demands
The employee is required to regularly use hands to finger, handle, etc. Sitting is frequent, standing is occasional, as is walking and reaching. Occasional lifting or moving up to 10 pounds is required.
Work environment
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee would encounter while performing the functions of this job. The noise level is usually moderate.
