Position summary
Andrews University seeks a Director of Graduate Enrolment Management to provide strategic leadership for recruitment and graduate enrollment management. Qualifications summary
Qualified candidates will have an earned bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of three years of experience in positions of supervisory responsibility. The successful candidate will have some understanding of the admission profession; skills in data-informed admission decision processes; strategic planning skills; effective supervisory experiences; the ability to develop and implement innovative strategies and policies; and be adept in developing and managing relationships within a diverse community. Preference given to master's degrees.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Leads and supports the office of Graduate Enrollment Management by overseeing marketing, recruiting, admissions, and enrollment strategies.
- Works in conjunction with the Vice President for Enrollment Management with collaboration with the Dean of School of Graduate Studies and research to develop strategic planning for graduate enrollment
- Understand, protect and communicate Andrews’ mission, values and brand identity internally and externally.This is to ensure that all processes, publications, and strategies used in enrollment management support such mission, vision, values and long-range planning goals.
- Supports the Dean in protecting the policies and academic standards set by the university.
- Oversees all efforts in developing the image of GEM through partnerships and networking with organizations and businesses in the area.
- Works with deans and directors from the different Schools and departments to set and achieve enrollment goals for all graduate programs.
- Works in conjunction with the associate director to develop marketing materials to promote all graduate programs.
- Works with the associate director in planning large recruiting events.
- Represent the office of Graduate Enrollment Management on different committees.
- Actively participate in university outreach programs for the community when appropriate.
- Evaluate, track and coach staff members to ensure continuous development
- Stay current in admissions and enrollment technological trends
- Oversee and participate in all Graduate Enrolment Management hiring decisions for staff members.
- Report to the dean on matrices to assess the effectiveness of marketing, recruiting, admission and enrollment strategies.
- Monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies and recommend the development of key and emerging recruiting markets.
- Research the marketing and recruiting field to provide new strategies in order to increase the yield rate from recruit to applicant.
- Responsible for planning and executing strategies to maximize the conversion from recruit to enroll.
- Work with the Vice President of Enrollment Management collaborating with the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, and the Associate Director on the structure of the school's marketing function, establishing internal and external policies and guidelines for maximum effectiveness.
- Participate in professional development activities to ensure compliance with professional guidelines in the enrollment field.Also, collaborate with the graduate enrollment community when appropriate.
- Oversee and manage effective use of department’s budget.
- Be proficient in academic program selling points, marketing needs and specific recruiting strategies and ensure that the relevant information is disseminated to the appropriate staff.
- Be proficient in current academics standards and procedures at Andrews University and in the field in order to ensure that the appropriate information is disseminate to the appropriate staff.

Supervises a Graduate Enrollment professional staff as well as student workers. Collaborates and advises as appropriate with related enrollment individuals.

Qualified candidates will have an earned master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of five years of experience in positions of supervisory responsibility. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the admission profession; skills in data-informed admission decision processes; strategic planning skills; effective supervisory experiences; the ability to develop and implement innovative strategies and policies; and be adept in developing and managing relationships within a diverse community. Experience interacting with multicultural populations is preferred.

Certificates, licenses, registrations – Valid Michigan Drivers’ license and appropriate clearances to drive university vehicles if driving for departmental events is needed.
