Position summary
Assist management with operations for the Howard Performing Arts Center.

Duties and responsibilities
- Perform box office duties including; ticket printing and sales, answering and returning calls, appropriate reporting, and other secretarial duties as needed by management.
- Provide assistance to Howard Center management in maintaining and updating the Howard Center website.
- Assist with the upkeep of social media platforms for the Howard Center.
- Assist with the execution of all events; concert series, University ensemble group performances, guest performers, facility renters, recitals, tours, classes and rehearsals.

Language Skills - The ability to articulate Howard Center procedures and policies, mission and vision, both written and oral to customers is required. The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and to effectively present information and respond to questions from both internal and external customers is essential.
Mathematical and Computer Skills - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to work with Excel spreadsheets for report preparation and bank deposits.
Technical competencies
Competence with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media platforms.

Physical demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to conduct building tours and demonstrations which require mobility throughout the building. During performances there is considerable walking and standing. Occasionally there are more physical requirements including the setup of tables and chairs, moving of equipment on and off stage, dismantling and set up of risers and other physical tasks as necessitated by the various performances.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. During certain performances, the decible level may be high in which case high-fidelity ear plugs are provided.
