Position summary
The Graduate Student Assistant position covers a broad area of responsibilities. This dynamic working environment will require that the assistant be able to multi-task between secretarial activities and major projects relating to prospective graduate students. The position requires that the student be comfortable with communicating and relating to people.

Duties and responsibilities
- Answers phone and is able to provide a friendly voice to assist prospective students with questions, concern and requests
- Scans and upload documents, process transcripts and other data entry duties
- Email, schedule appointments and mail documents when necessary
- Assists Graduate Enrollment Coordinators in diverse enrollment tasks, including the analysis of documents and students’ applications
- Support the Graduate Enrollment Office in various events.
- Other enrollment projects as assigned

Qualifications
- Effective communication skills: is friendly, personable, customer service oriented and has great phone and people skills
- Ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to use or willingness to learn Banner is preferred
- Independent worker - is able to work independently on projects, does not require much supervision and is able to take initiative
- Detail oriented - ability to pay attention to details
- Willing to participate and assist in weekend projects as needed
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or other languages is preferred
Technical competencies
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to use or willingness to learn Banner
- Ability to use or willingness to learn Recruit.
Interpersonal interactions
Must be very customer-serivce orientated and have a friendly phone manner while assisting prospective students with questions, concern and requests.
