CENTER-READING LEARNING ASSESSMENT - Intervention Specialist

Position summary

We are looking for individuals whose first language is English and have a desire to help others who have reading challenges.  We are specifically training for the job intervention specialist.  If interested, you will obtain training in Orton-Gillingham-based Multi-sensory approach.

Qualifications summary

English is your first language.  You must pass the screening for following directions and hearing the sounds of the English Language.

A dedicated and patient individual who has a heart to serve

Must obtain training in Orton-Gillingham based multi-sensory approach.

We are also hiring math tutors.

 

Duties and responsibilities

You will be required to be consistent in meeting your scheduled appointments.  Follow the Andrews University Code of Ethics as well as the dress code. Sign paper work, and be willing to work with individuals with reading, learning, memory, and attention challenges.  A lesson plan is also required before the sessions.

Supervisory responsibilities

Supervise your students at all times.

Qualifications

English is your first language

Be willing to do menial responsibilities as needed in addition to your position.

Technical competencies

Pass a  typing and filing test.

Interpersonal interactions

A pleasant demeanor, patient, and kind teacher as well as understanding and projects a Christian character.  Be willing to learn different things, and accept

suggestions.

Physical demands

Be healthy.

Work environment

This is a learning center.  We are expected to know what we need to teach.
