ADV LEARNING COMMUNITY (ALC) - Junior Editor

Position summary
This is a Student Worker position.
The Junior Editor edits videos as assigned by the Media Director and endeavours to ensure that the final product matches the ALC and client visions. The Junior Editor will also act as a camera operator on location shoots and in studio.

Duties and responsibilities

Shoot scenes according to requirements

Capture quality footage from a fixed or moving position

Manipulate and edit video clips in a way that is appealing to the audience

Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film

Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects

Create rough and final cuts

Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running of videos

Consult with Media Director from production to post-production process

Qualifications

Proven experience as camera operator

Experience operating relevant equipment (cameras, cranes etc.)

Excellent theoretical knowledge of filming and capturing footage

Ability to understand and follow video scripts

Physical strength to carry heavy equipment

Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)

Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio

Interpersonal interactions
Must work well with others, this is very much a team based work environment.
Must have the ability to quickly understand and follow directions, particularly in time sensative situations.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Work environment
Work envirnment is mostly in office, some in studio, and some on location in convention halls or churches.
