Position summary
Responsible for the timely processing of all necessary information to verify, package and monitor awards for new and returning students who indicate a desire to receive institutional and federal financial aid.
Qualifications summary
Person with a knowledge of Banner computer skills, listening skills, willing to be trained and willing to have a customer service attitude, flexible. seasonal long hours of work.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
âºVerification Process
Responsible for understanding Federal Title IV regulations and insuring compliance.
Review student aid application based on federal regulations.
Assess and evaluate reported data on institutional forms and the FAFSA.
Resolve conflicting information on the FAFSA.
Process ISIR (Institutional Student Information Record) corrections.
Process Professional Judgments.
Solve reject Codes and “C” Codes reported on the ISIR.
âºPackaging Process
Check to ensure that the correct budget is in place.
Identify any additional budget amount conditions.
Check financial aid application for external resources (Educational Allowance,External scholarships, etc.)
Confirm student class standing and make necessary corrections
Confirm academic acceptance.
Review award letter lists for freshman, returning, and revised students. Students with ISIR and acceptance receive an award letter.
Identify PTC Students and others not eligible applying for financial aid and inform advisors.
Check loans limits with NSLDS.
âºDetermine eligibility, process and monitor Michigan State Grant (GRMI, SCMI).
âºProcess institutional & external grants/scholarship. If a scholarship recipient has already been packaged, budget and aid limits must be re-confirmed.
âºOriginate and modify federal loans from institutional request forms or through the Web according to federal limits.
âºRun current monitoring reports to insure compliance and communicate findings to Assistant Director and Financial Advisors accordingly. Process and monitor PLU/PLUG web-accepted loans.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer experience. Banner experience. Excel, Word.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Technical competencies
Able to create and work in Banner, Excel Spreadsheets, Word.
Interpersonal interactions
âºAttend workshops and training sessions as directed by supervisor.
âºProvide backup to Financial Advisors as requested.
âºPerform other duties as assigned.
Physical demands
Able to sit alot, some standing as you work and also a lot of computer usage, eye strain.
Work environment
Carpeted floor, handle files, and financial aid packages. No heavy lifting.
