Research assistant will check documentation for bibliographic references and correct inaccuracies in quotations and paraphrases. Short-term project, but with the possibility of further employment.

Applicant must have superior communication skills with an avid interest in scholarship and book production.
Duties and responsibilities
- Identify all citations to published works throughout manuscripts
- Confirm accuracy and completeness of bibliographic references cited
- Correct inaccuracies in all quotations
- Confirm that paraphrased statements are thorough rewrites of original quotations

Qualifications
- High level of attention to detail and quality of work, observant of discrepancies
- Avid interest in book production and scholarship
- Superior written communication skills
- Currently enrolled full-time student at Andrews University: graduate student preferred; undergraduates must have already completed College Writing courses
- Advanced understanding of English grammar and punctuation
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Knowledgeable of Seventh-day Adventist theology and history
- Familiar with the James White Library
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Able to spend long periods of time on a single task
Technical competencies
Experience with track changes in Microsoft Word
Interpersonal interactions
Will communicate regularly with in-house editor via e-mail

Some hours will be spent in the James White Library
