Position summary
Bible teacher to serve our global network of students. The job includes developing the Encounter Bible curriculum for online courses. The right candidate will have the aptitude to learn how to adapt courses on a Learning Management System, evaluate the faith-based elements in courses, have an understanding of writing quality curriculum, and have the ability to appreciate working with a team. This candidate will need to understand the importance coordinating work with the NAD schools and individual distance education learners.
Qualifications summary
Having experience working as Bible teacher/Chaplain in an NAD school is a priority. This candidate must be an NAD denominationally certified teacher and at least 3 years’ experience in teaching Encounter Bible curriculum. Masters degree in education is encouraged. Having experience in videography, writing curriculum, and project management is preferred. Being able to interact with students through videoconferencing effectively is extremely important.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop Encounter Bible curriculum for online classes
- Evaluate and select faith-based elements to be included in online courses
- Instruct teachers on how to use the online courses/technology
- Design courses for the Learning Management System
- Attend Course Planning Committee meetings with the team
- Manage contributing authors and media projects
- Use Adobe Acrobat Pro, SoftChalk, Photoshop, etc to design courses
- Attend professional PD to assist in continuous quality improvement for courses
- Train NAD administrators/facilitators how to use this course for online classes in their organization
- Conduct online videonconferencing regularly with students
- Project management for streamlining production of course development
- Serve the global network of students in the area of spiritual growth
- Create/find short films that are compliant to online learning to add to the content of courses
- Integrate meaningful interaction between Griggs and individual distance educatin students
- Find innovative ways to deliver Bible classes effectively to DL students.
- Learn the management of Griggs Online
- Projects as assigned by the principal

Qualifications
- NAD Certification in teaching Bible
- Experience in Teaching Encounter Bible in an NAD School
- Background in teaching in an online environment
- Aptitude for Using technology for design
- Bachelors Degree in Religion related area
- Preferred Masters Degree in Education Leadership or Curriculum
- Ongoing training and experience with Encounter Bible
- Ability to work out complicated solutions for adapting a classroom curriculum for distance education
- Edit short videos for instruction
- Write content to complement the material
- Market the information about the new Bible courses
