Position summary

Duties are divided approximately equally between office administration and departmental recruting, with some time spent overseeing student workers and greenhouse operations. 

Qualifications summary

Successful applicant will have: a college degree, 2-4 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, with strong skills in writing and editing, the ablility to work independently as well as collaboratively, and a friendly, warm manner that is welcoming to students either in person, on the phone, or via electronic communication. 


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities



Supervisory responsibilities

Supervision of 1-3 student workers. 

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written skills in English

Ability to write creatively and accurately

Attentive to details

Understand or willing to learn the structure of the department and college.

Able to work on projects independently and collaboratively


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Technical competencies

Able to use Microsoft Office and social media. 

Able to use mass communication software

Able to learn how to use Curriculog and Registrars Portal 

Interpersonal interactions

Must be able to greet students and visitors in a warm, friendly manner and assist them with resolving their questions.

Willing to assist adjunct faculty with photocopying, collating, etc.

Responsive to regular faculty requests

Physical demands

Physically demands include the ability to see and hear normally as well as be able to operate a computer and telephone. Lifting requirements are not to exceed 50lbs.

Work environment

The work environment is an academic office that is pet and plant friendly. Work environment also includes greenhouses and community garden plots, as well as some walking on campus to run errands. There is some background, low-volume noise.
