Position summary
The Alumni Data Analyst is an important position for supporting the overall operations of the alumni team. It is designed to enhance the Office of Alumni Services by serving as a bridge in interpreting and extracting data from various channels for decision-making purposes by the administration. This role requires working with prospect research, prospect identification and other data operations. This position will work closely with University Development and Alumni to manage and collect data for strategic decision making by the administration.

Duties and responsibilities
Data Management
- Compile data collected by numerous University Advancement entities through regional event registration, email marketing reports and various data mining programs.
- Manipulate data in a way to achieve various insights.
- Complete data manipulation to ensure variable data is able to be used in the marketing and communication platforms.
- Ability to provide visual reporting for decision-making purposes.
- Working with prospect research through a variety of data mining technologies.
- Work on maintaining and utilizing internal University database.

Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position is acceptable. However, Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is encouraged, Andrews University granted degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Three or more years of experience are necessary, working in the areas of data mining, research or data manipulation. Social media and web technologies experience is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The ability to effectively and clearly communicate via a variety of communication channels is required. Clear and concise writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate via email is also necessary. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively via phone and in person. English language proficiency is a must.
MATHEMATICAL/COMPUTING SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts is necessary, to reconcile receipts and do basic calculations. Must be familiar with working in Microsoft Office Suite and be proficient in working with a computer. Excellent skills in Excel and other data mining and management systems. High degree of attention to detail.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
