Position summary
Responsible for performing teaching or teaching-related duties to assist in the instructional lab material for INFS120 Foundations of Information Technology. Aside from teaching the labs they are required to proctor exams, grade tests and homework, and record grades in an online grade book. Assigns material in class as needed.
Lab sections responsible for: INFS120 L02 (meets Mondays and Wednesdays at 18:30-20:20 in CSH 226) & L03 (meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 18:30-20:20 in CSH 226)
If selected, the candidate will receie a $1,000 scholarship per semester credited to their student account and $10.05/hr for 16 hours per week.
Qualifications summary
- Must be a full time graduate student. Undergraduates will not be considered for this position.
- MUST HAVE a BBA, BS, BA or AS in any technology-related field e.g. Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or Business
Duties and responsibilities
- Assist INFS120 Foundations of Information Technology Lecturer with lab instruction, exams, record keeping, and other miscellaneous projects.
- Tutor or mentor students.
- Perform lab instructional teaching.
- Prepare for labs, including texts and other materials.
- Prepare presentations for lectures.
- Deliver lectures.
- Hand out assignments and grade papers.
- Proctor examinations.
- Record grades and inform students of their final grades.
- Arrange for teaching observations.
- Meet with students during office hours.
- Lead discussion sections.
- Correspond with students on inter-campus communication system.
- Enforce INFS120 rules.
- Take attendance and record responses.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a full time graduate student. Undergraduates will not be considered for this position.
- MUST HAVE a BBA, BS, BA or AS in any technology-related field e.g. Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or Business
- Excellent communication in spoken and written English, and impeccable presentation skills
- Must have in-depth knowledge of the following apps: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Google Docs, Google Presentation, Google Sheets, Google Form, WordPress, and MS Visio.
- Should be able to work independently
- Can work 16 hours per week, including the lab times (Monday through Thursday from 18:30-20:20)
- Must have a good work ethic
- Must be legal to work within the US
- Good interpersonal relationship skills
- Project-oriented
Technical competencies
- Must have in-depth knowledge of the following apps: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Google Docs, Google Presentation, Google Sheets, Google Form, WordPress, and MS Visio.

Must be comfortable interacting with students in a teaching role as well as co-workers.
