Position summary
Coordinate all office activities of the Dining Services Department. Organize orientation and training of all employees for the department, and resolves customer inquiries and complaints that cannot be resolved by office staff. Monitors CBORD ID card system and assist students with account transfer and postings. Also performs the following duties personally or through coordinates.

Duties and responsibilities
- Coordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency
- Organize orientation and training of new staff members
- Oversees the National School Lunch Program, auditing and verification process.
- Ensure security and confidentiality of data
- Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory
- Implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiency and safety standards.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Organize and coordinate dining requests for Convention Services, all Andrews University Departments and Non Andrews University Organizations/Groups.
- Manage, evaluate, coach and discipline office staff
- Do other projects as requested by senior management staff

Supervisory responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university; or at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced computer literacy skills are required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Comfort with accounting procedures.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to apply to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee comes in contact with the standard Food Service equipment but not limited to the following: freezers, refrigerators, storage area, slicers, grills and cooking kettles. Exposed to extreme heat in cooking environments and extreme cold in freezers and coolers. Moves equipment inside and outside in all weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personnel in the Food Service Industry must be able to stand for long hours. Peaks of high production are demanded both daily and seasonally, depending on job location.
