CHILDRENS LEARNING CENTER - Culinary Aide

Position summary

The position requires a dedicated and responsible individual to manage the kitchen in our child care center. It will be involved in all aspects meal distribution.  Background check and fingerprinting are required.

Hours are 9:30 am - 12:30 pm Monday - Friday.  

Qualifications summary

• Must be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma.


• High engery


• Must love children.

Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

• Follow all safe food handling and general safety and sanitation procedures


• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen 


• Transport lunches safety from the Cafeteria to The Crayon Box promptly and safely.


• Distribute lunch to all classrooms on time with accurate serving sizes.


• Responsible for classroom breakfast dishes


• Distribute daily breakfast and snack components.


• Help store and put away food product


• Follow all safe food storage guidelines


• Be sensitive to allergy and specific dietary requirements


• Informs Director of any concerns, changes in meal count and situations that effect the center.

Supervisory responsibilities

May supervise student workers, as determined by the Director.

Physical demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.   Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Work environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
