Position summary

Responsible for responding to the cleaning, general conference room preparation, and laundry services of Meier Hall.

Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned. Accomplishes tasks as assigned and delegated by the Housekeeping manager.

1. Cleans and vaccums hallways, stairways, lobbies, laundry rooms, kitchens, etc:

2. Cleans, dusts and mops hard surfaces.

3.Cleans and polishes glass, water fountains, and stainless steel area.

4.Moves furniture and reorganizes lobby and common areas.

5.Cleans rest rooms, lobbies, laundry rooms, trash rooms, and other common areas.

6.Cleans and disinfects door casing and door knobs on a regular basis, cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture,

7. Helps in the laundry room when needed doing sorting, folding, health club laundry and conferenence laundry (summer only)

8. Replenishes public restroom supplies.

9. Washes walls, ceiling, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.

10. Delivers toilet paper to resident rooms on a weekly basis.

11. Removes the trash from the trash rooms and takes to the dumpster.

12. Responsible for resident room cleaning before and after summer conference guests.

Supervisory responsibilities

May supervise student workers as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Some experience in working in the general areas of housekeeping and janitorial services.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to effectively communicate in English.  Ability to read and write.  Ability to complete work in a timely manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to measure, do percentages, proportions and calculate figures.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  Ability to prioritize and complete the jobs in a timely manner.
