Position summary
Fulltime position and will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level didactic and clinical courses.
Qualifications summary
- Doctorate or Masters in Nursing degree
- At least two years of current work experience as a nurse or nurse educator.
- Experience in mental health nursing and/or women's health (OB) a plus.
- Formal teaching experience is preferred.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Teach and supervise students' clinical related to assigned course(s).
- Participate in the skills and simulation lab for the clinical group(s) with assistance from skills/simulation lab person.
- Create/Review and update applicable syllabi for courses assigned.
- Evaluate students' course work, lab, and clinical for assigned courses.
- Participate in accreditation preparation and visit when applicable.
- Available to students for skills practice and tests when required.
- Maintain weekly office hours as required by policy to be available to students.
- Participate in department, school, and university's committees as required by policy.
- Participate in scholarship, service, and teaching activities as required by Andrews’s faculty policy.
- Participate in nursing department activities like dedication, pinning, recruitment, advising, etc.
- Participate in collecting assessment data for the department.
- If teaching online, abide by the online contract and the school's requirements for teaching.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the School of Nursing, College and University levels.

This position has limited supervisory responsibilities
Qualifications
- Doctorate or Masters in Nursing degree

Technical competencies
- Ability to use course management systems like Moodle is preferred, but training will be given.
- Comfortable with classroom presentation technology like PowerPoint etc.
Interpersonal interactions
- Must be comfortable interacting with students in an advisory role.
- Must be comfortable interacting with multiethnic and multinational faculty and student population.
Physical demands
- Must be able to keep up with the physical demand required for students’ clinical rotation within the healthcare settings.
Work environment
- Classes will be taught mostly in Marsh Hall, Andrews University.
- Clinical at hospitals and clinics in the community.
- Online courses will be taught through the Learning Management System (Moodle/LearningHub).
