Position summary

Assistant, associate professor, or artist-in-residence expert in documentary film will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in filmmaking, with an area of emphasis in post-production techniques and workflow. Continue expanding the documentary film program based on his/her industry experience in filmmaking or other possible areas such as motion design. Manages film program facilities and advises students in their classes and film projects. Continues developing projects that raises the prestige of the university. An artist-in-residence can expect to fill the position for at least a year, and an assistant/associate professor may be brought on permanently.

Duties and responsibilities



Supervisory responsibilities

There is potential for a student worker to be employed under this position. In addition, must be able to manage film program facilities and post-production editing suites. Advises and oversees some student research and student film projects. 



 

Qualifications




Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Technical competencies

Experience with multiple NLE, color grading, and 2D/3D motion design and compositing platforms.

Interpersonal interactions



Physical demands

Must be able to handle camera equipment and potentially film on location. 



 

Work environment

Work environment conditions are similar to those found in any regular office and classroom environment.

Classes will be taught mostly between Nethery Hall, Harrigan Hall and Smith Hall (T.V. Film Studio), Andrews University.

May be required to teach evening courses as well as online courses using Zoom (Video Conferencing)  or Course Learning Management System (Moodle/Learning Hub).
