Position summary

The Administrative Assistant’s position will be working with student recruitment, curriculog, bulletin updates and accreditation. The hours for this position will be 9am - 2pm.

Qualifications summary

Bachelor degree preferred

Must have at least 2 years of office experience

Proficiency in office/clerical/computer skills needed

The candidate must be able to show that they have a history of providing great customer service

Must be organized, pro-active, have good prioritization skills and excellent communication skills


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Duties and responsibilities

Provides administrative support to an academic teaching department by providing reception services, student recruitment, scheduling appointments, meetings, filing,  and preparing and proofreading correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested.

Assists faculty by answering questions and providing information, curriculog, bulletin updates and accreditation.

Assists students by determining who can best provide information needed by the student, providing basic and initial assistance to students with questions about classes, registration, permissions, etc. using established guidelines (information in course catalogs, departmental and college documents, and established policies and procedures).

Supports the work of the department by purchasing equipment and supplies, maintaining an inventory of office supplies, and utilizing the appropriate process to pay for goods or services purchased by the department.

Supervisory responsibilities

May have some supervisory duties of Graduate Assistants

Qualifications

Two years of general office experience or an equivalent combination of education and general office experience is required.

Bachelor degree preferred.

General MS office skills are required.

Ability to learn quickly.


Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.

Technical competencies

Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook

Able to learn web based programs specific to school

Interpersonal interactions

Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.

The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

Physical demands

Mostly a sedentary position, must be able to type and use computers for the length of scheduled shift.
