Position summary
The manager of annual campaigns is responsibile for developing and implementing strategies for all annual campaigns for Andrews University. This dynamic leader will be responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating a fundraising program whose purpose is to build a long-term base of support for Andrews.
Qualifications summary
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of professional experience in the area of fundraising or similar field

- Proven ability to lead projects to completion
- Strong self-motivation and high level of professionalism
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
- Overall management and leadership responsibility for all annual giving including planning and executing a multi-channel strategy utilizing direct mail, email, calling, texting, web, social media, and additional channels as identified
- Work with campus departments to coordinate and advise on specific departmental fundraising/communication efforts
- Work in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Services in connecting with the reunion gift chair to coordinate 50-year reunion gift, identify potential donors, and develop solicitation strategies
- Utlilize data to create segmented appeal structure and communication plan to target donors by giving behavior and constituency. Analyze results and use data to inform short-term and long-term tactics and strategies
- Collaborate with advancement communications to develop and maintain consistency of annual giving messaging used in solicitations, stewardship, volunteer work, and events. Ensure alignment with university brand in developing and implementing strategies for increasing alumni participation in annual giving
- Collaboarte with Vice President for University Advancement, Associate Vice President for Development and Senior Development Officers to develop solicitation, communication, and stewardship strategies for leadership annual giving donors, including President's Council members and Board members
- Collaborate with Director of Alumni to further build relationships with alumni, parents, and friends to foster a culture of annual giving
- Identify and leverage univeristy-wide opportunities to increase overall giving and participation among alumni, parents, and friends
- Participate in prospect research leading to donor identification for annual gifts
- Support University Advancement in its efforts to maintain the integrity of the database system, and provide appropriate reports, records, and other data as requested
- In partnership with University Communications, regularly update website content for the Development section; produce publications and communications for annual campaigns
- Coordinate various donor recognition events as needed
- Manage the budget which covers the expenses of annual giving campaigns
Supervisory responsibilities
Provide supervision and guidance to student workers in the Office of Development as needed
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational skills; initiate and complete multiple tasks on time with competing priorities and deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and judgment to represent Andrews both within and outside the university, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality
- Excellent written, oral skills; must be able to write and speak persuasively
- Previous experience in Banner/ability to learn Banner and other database systems; ability to learn and use new technology
- Proven ability to lead projects to completion; ability to plan and set meaningful objectives
- Strong self-motivation; self-starter

- Must be comfotable interacting with students in a supervisory role
- Must be able to interact with alumni and donors on the phone or in person in a kind, friendly and professional manner
- Must be a collaborative team member, interacting with development and advancement team in a positive manner on various projects and initiatives
Physical demands
- Must be able to lift and move boxes (approximately 25-40 lbs) of fundraising appeals to mailroom (there is a dolly to help with this)
- Good vision and good hearing are essential to all job functions
Work environment
The office for this position is well lit with large windows. It is a quiet working environment.
