Position summary
Asan active member of the faculty of School of Population Health, Nutrition, and Wellness (PHNW), College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), responsibilities include:
- Teach nutrition related courses based on experience and skillset
- Advise and recruit students
- Perform cooking demonstrations, be involved in nutrition expos, present at journal club meetings
- Communicates regularly with PHNW School Chair (Supervisor) regarding programmatic updates and initiatives.
- Participates in national initiatives in the field of nutrition and public health as well as programmatic innovations and best practices by submitting abstracts and presenting research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in school initiatives/seeks grant funding.
Qualifications summary
- Master’s degree required from an accredited school/program, doctorate preferred
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialed in the United States
- Clinical or food service experience required
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Duties and responsibilities
Work duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Monitors national initiatives in the field of nutrition and public health as well as programmatic innovations and best practices.
- Supports PHNW School initiatives.
- Monitors the university’s academic calendar.

Qualifications
Position requirements:
a. 1-3 years of teaching experience at the university level is
preferred.
b. Experience with research and publications preferred
c. Knowledge of ACEND accreditation preferred
d. Applicant will be
Expertise in the areas of:
a. Medical nutrition therapy and food service management
b. General nutrition
c. Vegetarian nutrition
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organization and writing skills
required. Willing to develop relationships throughout the nutrition and public health field and across other sectors. Strong public speaking and presentation skills. Discretion and sound judgment. Team-oriented and collaborative. Communicates regularly with PHNW School and faculty.
Must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good and regular standing.
Technical competencies
Microsoft Office, ability to use nutrition assessment software for nutrition research, and online teaching platforms.
Interpersonal interactions
Must be comfortable working with diverse faculty, staff and students.
