Position summary

The Office of International Student Services requires the individual to serve as an administrative assistant/front office person whilst working closely with the Administrators within this department. 

Qualifications summary

Listener, Customer service skills, Management time well, Multitask, Good communication skills (in person, on the telephone and emails), intercultural proficiency and willing to learn.

Duties and responsibilities

Assist in Answering phone calls; answer basic questions and/or refer visitors and callers to the appropriate person

Assist in maintaining the office by requesting for office supplies, receiving and distributing mail of the staff/office

Assist with administrative work as needed; this may include maintaining spreadsheets; filing document, copying or scanning documents, etc., 

Keep the front desk office's appearance clean and pleasant for visitors to come to.

Assist in running errands for the office.

Support the efforts of the office in general, as necessary and fulfill other duties as assigned.

Weekend work will be required several times a year. Need to be available to work during most of the summer months.

Must be a team player, customer service driven, possess a strong work ethic and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality

Greet all visitors warmly, politely, and professionally

Qualifications

Speak English conversantly. Speak any of the following languages (one or more): Mandarin, Korean and/or Spanish 

Have experience having lived, worked or studied outside of the USA, have worked or interacted meaningfully with people from outside of the USA. 

Ability to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities (multi-tasking ability would be beneficial)

Complete and pass the Office Skills test. Please complete it at the Employment office on the 2nd floor of Administration Building.

 

Good computer skills

Good organizational skills and detailed oriented

Be a full time enrolled as a graduate student

Work environment

It is an office work environment that is quiet. Have to climb 3 flights of stairs. Lots of standing and sitting down. Dress professionally to work.
